Allied Universal Security Trainer in Fairfax, Virginia

Allied Universal is hiring a Trainer for the Fairfax County Government in Fairfax County Virginia. The office is located in the Fairfax County Government Center in the County Security suite. The Security Trainer is responsible for conducting training solely for Fairfax County employees. This Security Trainer will provide PowerPoint-assisted training for six specific courses (Active Assailant, Workplace Violence Training, De-escalation, Home or Off-site Visit Safety Training, Mental Health First Aid Training, and Duress Alarm Training. All six of these courses have well-established and approved PowerPoint Presentations that must be used by the trainer. The course curriculum is well established and must be adhered to. The position requires a Monday through Friday in-office schedule. No telework.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide PowerPoint-assisted training to Fairfax County employees for the six courses referenced below:

  • Active Assailant

  • Workplace Violence Training

  • De-escalation

  • Home or Off-Site Visit Safety Training

  • Mental Health First Aid Training

  • Duress Alarm Training

Conduct special projects on an as-needed basis to support the Fairfax County Security Program

The position requires a Monday through Friday in-office schedule. No telework.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

The basic qualifications listed below are representative of the relevant knowledge, skills, and/or experience required in order to be hired. These are requirements that we have determined are the minimum a candidate must have in order to be successful in this role.

Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required:

· High School Diploma or above.

· Must have substantive prior professional law enforcement experience and background.

· Pass any or any other client-specific training as required

· Must have a valid driver’s license

· Ability to work independently with little to no direct supervision.

· Outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, including with clients

· Ability to write and review documents effectively, create PowerPoint Presentations, and respond via written communications professionally.

· Highly proficient and fully functional in Microsoft programs such as Word and PowerPoint and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology

· Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments, and effectively manage deadlines

· Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion

· The position requires a Monday through Friday in-office schedule. No telework.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

· National Rifle Association (NRA) Law Enforcement Instructor certification, or able to meet all NRA Law Enforcement (LE) eligibility requirements

· College coursework in Education, Business, Criminal Justice, Human Resources, Security Management, or related field

· Prior experience in the fire service, security industry, law enforcement, and/or military

· Experience in security operations or other functions of the security industry

Physical Requirements and Environment:

· Major activities include: (e.g., walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing)

· Physical effort: (e.g., standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, and carrying up to thirty pounds of equipment or gear)

· Must be able to submit to drug screening to the extent permissible by law
