Allied Universal Business Development Sales Associate in Irvine, California

Allied Universal Event Services® is hiring a Business Development Associate. The Business Development Associate will support field sales activities and drive key performance indicators and sales results. The Business Development Associate will research and analyze market conditions and identify sales opportunities, build relationships with prospects, develop sales strategies, design proposal content, and provide sales and marketing expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research market conditions, evaluate competitive market and provide trend analysis on findings; develop project roadmap for future prospects; determine recommendations for immediate or future bid opportunities

  • Support the region’s sales by creating high quality, compelling, and customer-focused proposals; evaluate Requests for Proposal requirements and determine content; develop new content for proposal templates

  • Coordinate various aspects of proposal preparation to ensure that all parts are completed and produced for submission within proposal requirements and within a set timeframe; oversee the design and development of business proposals, and work hands on for the successful completion and timely submittal of the same

  • Evaluate and clarify client requests prior to proposal submission and participating in pre-proposal meetings

  • Coordinate with operational and sales team members to establish executability of service level agreement components (i.e., pricing, staffing levels, etc.); provide pricing and service level recommendations to senior leadership; represent the company in meetings with prospects

  • Conduct cold calls on identified prospects, determine prospect qualification, and establish face-to-face appointments; build rapport with prospects and transition “cold” inquiries over time into “warm” responsive prospects

  • Work with Marketing team to create robust social media content to showcase the Allied Universal Event Services brand

  • Proactively seek out ways to improve the Allied Universal prospect and customer experience; design and implement processes to streamline efficiencies

  • Complete special projects such a reporting and tracking bid workflow and proactive updating of proposal and material statistics

  • Content management of historical data and company material

  • Track annual sales data

  • Participate in the development of pricing models

  • Partner with Business Development Managers by providing market expertise in developing contracts for new clients

  • Identify sales opportunities through bid-portals and pass to Business Development Managers for targeting and pull-through

  • Network within community relationships, attend and get actively involved with identified associations (IAVM, NACDA etc.)

  • Contribute to the Region meeting and/or exceeding sales expectations

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

  • Minimum of one (1) year of sales experience

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows-based computers and peripheral equipment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills over the phone and in person

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully utilize customer relationship management software to drive sales (SalesForce.com, ACT, Gold Mine, Upshot, Siebold, etc.)

  • Collaborative skills to partner with the sales and operations teams in identifying and resolving problems, issues, concerns

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors and general public

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through with requests and details

  • High-level writing skills to persuasively answer questions to requests for proposal and develop proposal text

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Experience in B2B sales, preferable In a service industry

  • Experience using Salesforce

BENEFITS:

  • Pay: Starting at $66,560 annual base

  • Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days

  • Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
