Allied Universal Security Learning & Development Manager in Kansas City, Missouri

Allied Universal® is hiring a Regional Training Manager. The Regional Training Manager is responsible for creating, implementing, and managing event services training products and systems; for organizing and delivering field training events; for maintaining internal and external customer relations and service; for working on any special projects on an as-needed basis to support of event services organizational objectives; and for managing compliance with event services and AUS training goals and requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, implement, and manage high quality training products and systems, operational programs and systems and any other event services products as needed, compliant with training and operational needs and relevant regulations

  • Work with operational partners (Human Resource Coordinators/Branch Managers) to develop practical training programs at the branch level to comply with contractual and regulatory training

  • Deliver/conduct field training programs for Security Professionals and Supervisors in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, and Allied Universal and Allied Universal Event Services standards

  • Manage third party relationships as assigned or as needed (e.g., training providers, service providers, etc.)

  • Communicate with stakeholders (Regional Training Manager, Field operations, Security Professionals, Supervisors, Field and Corporate Training, and Clients)

  • Organize and deliver training and professional development events as directed or needed

  • Work within project management processes and, when required, manage projects

  • Perform any requested tasks in support of the event services national training objectives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Obtain and maintain training and security related credentials (e.g., instructor certifications, organization memberships, professional certifications) as directed.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of learning program development and implementation

  • Prior work experience in a fast-paced administrative environment

  • Work history must include:

  • Excellent organizational skills that include the ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership

  • Ability to write manuals, high quality and engaging training products, review and respond to written requests for proposals, and prepare extensive presentations

  • Highly proficient and fully functional in Microsoft programs such as Word and PowerPoint are essential, and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology including PDAs, Outlook, and internet applications

  • Ability to deliver specific training programs in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations, and Allied Universal standards; CPR/First Aid/AED; Defensive Tactics (e.g. handcuffs, pepper spray, batons, Tasers, firearms); Mobility Devices (e.g. vehicles, bicycle, golf cart, Segway); Fire Safety Services (emergency plans; occupants, floor wardens and staff presentations; and evacuation drills); provide other value-added services such as workplace violence/active shooter training

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills; able to maintain internal and external customer relations to result in customer satisfaction

  • Thorough understanding of the private security industry and operations, especially security concepts, skills, and techniques

  • Able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities

  • Able to focus and multi-task in a busy environment, with the ability to successfully handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner. Includes being able to effectively manage multiple interactions with diverse personalities and engage them to perform at optimum levels

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Education, Business, Criminal Justice, Human Resources, Security Management, or a closely related field

  • Prior experience in the fire service, security industry, law enforcement and/or military

  • Prior security instructor or related experience in a multi-location environment

  • Work experience with employee relations, development, and engagement as well as policy implementation and interpretation

  • Working knowledge of employment laws and civil rights legislation
