Federal Contract - Protective Security Officer (PSO)

Job Description

Maintain the safety and security of the buildings and property as well as the employees and visitors to the sites.

Monitor security cameras and make regular foot patrols of both the interior and exterior of the property sites, checking doors and hallways, while being vigilant of suspicious persons and things on the property.

Greet and direct all visitors to the appropriate areas so they may conduct their business. Screen all persons and packages entering the building, utilizing the screener training we will provide.

Respond to calls for assistance.

Sit or stand for long periods of time while working either by yourself or with other security officers.

Experience Requirement:

MUST have at least one of the following:

Two (2+) years military with an honorable discharge OR

Two (2+) years Law Enforcement with a Post Certification OR

Two (2+) years prior recent ARMED guard service with verifiable references

Other Contract Requirements:

Must have a High School diploma OR GED

Must be at least 21 years of age to apply

Must have a valid driver’s license and TN Armed Security Officer license

Must be able to shoot and qualify on a pistol range and possess the practical knowledge and skills to properly use the weapon.

Current Pay Rate is $22.82 per hour with the addition of a Health and Welfare stipend per hour capped at 2080 hours per year that goes directly towards the employee’s immediate health insurance or directly into a 401(K) for the employee if no health insurance is needed or both depending on the insurance plan that is chosen by the employee. Uniforms and equipment, including handgun are provided by the company. 88 hours paid PTO and 56 hours paid sick leave after the first year are also included

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities

• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner

• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

• Participate in industry specific security/safety training programs

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
