Senior Data Analyst

Position Overview : The Senior Data Analyst will support information management initiatives for a global security team. The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data to advance and enable key mission outcomes. The individual will support multiple security divisions by providing trend analysis, process improvement, and various analytical requirements in support of corporate and employee security and safety. This includes creating queries, sorting, and assessing large volumes of data utilizing data models and reporting packages. The candidate filling this position must be highly motivated and instinctively takes initiative.
Collect, archive, and review data from a variety of open and proprietary sources in support of threat analysis and risk mitigation outcomes
Manipulate data with SQL, Tableau, Excel; Run and modify SQL queries to generate reports in Tableau
Develop processes and simple data pipelines to improve reporting efficiencies
Perform ad-hoc reports and analysis
Collaborate with key stakeholders to ingest volumes of data, policy, and program points
Manage data sets in use by security analysts and operators
Cross-functional metrics, measurement, and reporting
Note: A working knowledge and application with both SQL and Tableau is a requirement for this position
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience.
4+ years of experience as an analyst in a data and analytics domain with excellent SQL, Python, or R skills for complex querying, advanced analysis, performance optimization, and working with data at scale
Experience working with cloud-based tooling, for example AWS RedShift, AWS EMR, Azure Data Lake Analytics, etc.
Experience in data models and reporting packages; Conceptual understanding of foundations of statistics and modeling
Knowledge of experimental design and causal inference experience
Experience creating informative and engaging data visualizations using industry leading tools, such as Tableau.
At minimum, working proficiency in SharePoint, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs
Capable of learning quickly in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to work independently and within a team
The candidate should have good time management and organizational skills
Exemplary critical thinking, analytical skills, and judgment
Preferred additional qualifications :
Project management experience
Familiarity with intelligence analysis, risk assessment approaches
Experience working in private sector supporting security teams
